God is Holy and Righteous
Isaiah 6:3: “Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: The whole earth is full of his glory.”
Deuteronomy 32:4: “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: For all his ways are judgment: A God of truth and without iniquity, Just and right is he.”
Habukkuk 1:13: “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, And canst not look on iniquity.”
Ezekiel 39:7: “So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and tthe heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.”
God demands Perfect Obedience to His Law: The Ten Commandments
“And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
- Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
- Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
- Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
- Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
- Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
- Thou shalt not kill.
- Thou shalt not commit adultery.
- Thou shalt not steal.
- Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
- Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.”
Mankind is Sinful, Unrighteous, and Unholy
Have you at any time broken any of these commandments? The Bible tells us that we have all broken every single commandment. Our very own broken lives tell us that we have broken His commandments.
Romans 3:10, 23: “There is none righteous, no, not one . . . For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
God’s Justice demands that Sinful Man be Punished. The Punishment for Sin is Everlasting Torment in the Fires of Hell
If you break a law, you will have to answer before a judge. A just judge will punish you for breaking that law. God, being just, has to punish mankind for breaking His commandments. This is simply justice.
Isaiah 13:11: “And I will punish the world for their evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; And I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.”
Romans 6:23a: “For the wages of sin is death.”
Proverbs 11:21a: “Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished.”
Luke 12:4, 5: “And I say unto you my Friends, be not afraid of them that kill the Body, and after that have no more that they can do: But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear; fear him, which after he hath killed, hath Power to cast into Hell; yea I say unto you, fear him.”
Amos 9:2, 3. Though they dig into Hell, thence shall mine Hand take them; though they climb up to Heaven, thence will I bring them down. And though they hide themselves in the Top of Carmel, I will ſearch and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my Sight in the Bottom of the Sea, thence I will command the Serpent, and he shall bite them.
Matthew 13:41 – 42: “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
Revelations 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
God’s Plan of Salvation for Sinful Man
God is not only holy, just, and righteous, but He is also merciful, gracious, and loving. Therefore, He has made it possible for mankind to escape the judgment of God and receive salvation.
The way of salvation is found in Jesus Christ, who is very man and very God.
1 Corinthians 15:1 – 7: “I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.”
God is Love and Has Purchased Salvation for Believers through the Mediatorial Death of Jesus Christ on the Cross on which He suffered the Torments of Hell in Our Behalf
1 John 4:8 – 10: “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
1 John 2:1 – 2: “And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
John 3:14 – 16: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
1 Corinthians 5:21: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Romans 5:6 – 8: “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Belief in Jesus Christ as your personal savior is the only way of salvation. Allah cannot save you, nor can you save yourself.
John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
What should be your response to this?
Repentance. Turning away from the sin that so displeases God and instead keep His commandments.
Ezekiel 18:21: “But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.”
Acts 3:19: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
Faith in Jesus Christ. Trust in His atoning sacrifice for all of your sins. Trusting and believing that all your salvation comes from Him and that there is absolutely nothing that you can do to be saved.
Acts 16:30 – 31: “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
